Nexera hits rollout milestone as fiber access network reaches half a million homes

Enxoo customer Nexera today announced that it has passed a major milestone, reaching 500,000 homes with its large-scale fiber-optic access network (NGA). Over the last few years, the Polish operator has been successively expanding its network in mainly rural areas. At the end of 2021, Nexera’s fibre-optic network covered 280,000 households, up from 100,000 in 2020 and 14,000 in 2019.

“Dear Nexera friends, you have reached another amazing milestone. What you are doing is truly making a difference in the lives of many people. Huge respect and congratulations to your entire team! Thank you for 5 years of cooperation. We are proud to be a partner of this exciting growth story from the very start,” said Krzysztof Zych, CEO at Enxoo.

Building network and IT infrastructure from scratch

In 2017, as a newcomer to the European telecoms market, Nexera had not only to build its network infrastructure from scratch but also business & operational processes. Nexera was looking for an API-based, scalable B/OSS solution that enables an automated quote-to-cash process and allows seamless communication with its customers and partners, which include some of the biggest MNOs and ISPs in Europe.

The path to success

Paweł Biarda, CCO at Nexera, reflecting on the past five years: “In 2017, we did not have any millions in cash or any network. However, we knew we had to prepare for accelerated growth and that we had a great chance to properly plan the entire business model, operational activity in an ‘automated way’ and with the smallest possible team on board. We decided to automate everything that we can and outsource areas that need to be done manually, but in such a way that our partners can also carry out automatic processes with us. It was a vision. We started looking for a partner who would help us realize this vision because the B/OSS system – the heart of every telecom business – must also be very effective.”

“We were looking for a partner who would go with us a little bit into the unknown. A partner who is not afraid of a challenge, and who – maybe if we go into a blind alley – will take us back 3 steps and go another way. We found such a partner in Enxoo who implemented a Salesforce-based B/OSS solution. Today, this allows us to handle several hundred of thousand orders per month, send them through our entire partner environment, receive messages, and communicate automatically with dozens of operators through a super-modern Open API-based solution. We are able to do all this with a small team, just because we have such a well-prepared and effectively prepared solution.”
